Dr. Derusha specializes in Spanish-language poetry, Peninsular and Latin American cultures, and translation studies.
His research currently focuses on problems of intertextuality, especially ekphrasis in the context of Spanish painters and writers. He offers a graduate seminar at the Prado Museum on this topic.
He has published and presented professional papers on poetry, film, postwar culture, Liberation Theology, the avant-garde in Europe and America, and translation.
