Summer I, June 4th-June 7th, 2018 (UNT Campus); June 9-July 7, 2018 (Mexico/Costa Rica)

Pre-requisites: SPAN 2050 or the equivalent and minimum GPA 2.3

  • UNT courses (choose one)
    • SPAN 3060 or 3080- Advanced Spanish Composition and Oral Practice (Dr. Yoon)
    • SPAN 3130: Topics in Latin America Cultures (Mexico/Costa Rica) (Dr. Lee)
  • Four Transfer Courses (choose one) & Intercultural Communications
    • Literary Analysis (equivalent to SPAN 3110: Introduction to Hispanic Literature)
    • Latin American Literature through Film (equivalent to SPAN 3180: Latin American Culture through Film)
    • Advanced Spanish Grammar (equivalent to SPAN 3090: Spanish Advanced Grammar)
    • Intercultural Communications (elective)

Estimated Program Fee (TBA): includes tution for 6 credit hours, home stay (single occupancy, two meals per day and weekly laundry service); 3 excursions (Nicaragua [3 nights, 4 days]; Poas Volcano/La Paz Waterfall/Doka Coffee Plantation [1 day]; San Jose City Tour [1 day]); Airport pick-up and drop-off; Extracurricular activities and travel insurance

Estimated Out of Pocket Student Costs: Study Abroad Office Application fee ($300); deposit ($500); Airfare ($650-$700); Personal expenses $500-$600 (textbooks, optional trips [Monte Verde/Arenal Volcano, Manuel Antonio, Puerto Viejo/Caribe], lunch, passport, personal expenses); etc.
