Highlights: 
Former Department Chair (2004-2012) and past President of the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF),Dr. Koop specializes primarily in French culture and civilization, mainly contemporary French society, with a secondary field in Quebec Studies.
Her research focuses on social issues in France around education (factors leading to academic achievement), women (in education and the workplace), and the status of immigrants.
Dr. Koop is Director of the semester program in Cannes (French Riviera) directed in 2014, 2016, 2018, and is planned for Spring 2021: (http://worldlanguages.unt.edu/study-abroad/french).
