Beginning October 21, the Spanish Department and members of Sigma Delta Pi will be holding a series of activities in celebration of "Day of the Dead".
From October 21-25, students may turn in a satirical poem, or "calaverita" to compete for a prize. All entries must be received in the main office, LANG 101, or to the office of Connie Martinez, LANG 401G, by 3pm on October 25. The best poems will be displayed on the altar on November 1.
October 30 is the deadline to turn in a photograph and biography of your favorite artist, writer or poet to be displayed on the altar on October 31. Again, please leave submissions in LANG 101 or LANG 401G no later than 5 pm.
All are welcome to join Sigma Delta Pi in constructing and decorating "El Altar del Dia de los Muertos" beginning at 3pm on October 31 in the Lobby of the Language Building.
Finally, please stop by the Language Building Lobby on November 1 to join us in celebrating "Day of the Dead". Learn about this custom and participate in activities.
We hope to see you there!
