Sofia Domingues and Sarah Murphy participated in the Texas State Japanese Speech Contest at Rice University on March 11th 2023.

They competed excellently in front of the audience from all Texas regions. They answered the questions by the judges in Japanese upon their completion of their speeches successfully.

Sofia won the 2nd place! She handled the questions and answers impressively on the spot.

Both Sofia and Sarah spent hours practicing in preparation to be ready for the contest in the busy time of the semester since February and made UNT very proud!
